About Canopy
Built from the work adult schools do every day.
Canopy grew from more than a decade of work alongside adult education schools. We saw capable teams trying to connect photos, stories, newsletters, social channels, creative work, and course information across tools that were never designed to work together.
The problems came first
Canopy was not adapted from a generic marketing platform.
Akkedis Digital has worked inside the realities of adult-school communications: small teams, constant deadlines, important stories that are difficult to collect, and class information that needs to stay current. Canopy turns those recurring problems into one connected working environment.

Why Canopy
The Knysna Forest gave us the right model for connection.
Our founder, Rob Zylstra, grew up in South Africa. He wanted something he was building in California for American adult schools to retain a connection to where he came from, so the Knysna Forest in South Africa gave Canopy its name, its colours, and the local animals people can choose for their profile picture.
The Knysna Forest is many distinct parts working as one living system—which is also what a school’s communications should be. That idea shapes how Canopy’s products connect and how information moves between them. Our stewardship connection remains quiet but genuine: the Knysna Forest is part of our origin, not decoration or a campaign costume.
